May 30, 2021 – UAVita was recently recognized as one of two winners in the Drone X Challenge 2020, specifically focused on high endurance/ heavy payload drones, sharing the $1 million prize.
The contest was launched in October 2018 and extended until January 2021 due to the coronavirus outbreak. The challenge attracted more than 1,000 applications from 55 countries. As the first-of-its-kind program in the industry, Drone X Challenge 2020 aimed to seek multi-rotor and fixed-wing drones capable of design specifications that were non-existent in the commercial market and more specifically drones with both endurance and heavy payload capabilities.
UAVita is a designer, manufacturer and integrator of purpose-built fixed wing high payload autonomous drones. The DISCOVERY is an industry leading drone with a maximum payload of 80 kg and maximum non-stop flight time of 15 hours or 600 km. UAVita is set to launch their next generation fixed wing drone that has a maximum payload of 340 kg and non-stop flight time of 30 hours or 4500 km.
