UAVita’s DISCOVERY D-80 Wins 2020 Drone X Challenge
UAVita was recently recognized as one of two winners in the Drone X Challenge 2020, specifically focused on high endurance/ heavy payload drones, sharing the $1 million prize.
The contest was launched in October 2018 and extended until January 2021 due to the coronavirus outbreak. The challenge attracted more than 1,000 applications from 55 countries. As the first-of-its-kind program in the industry, Drone X Challenge 2020 aimed to seek multi-rotor and fixed-wing drones capable of design specifications that were non-existent in the commercial market and more specifically drones with both endurance and heavy payload capabilities.
